The faithful

Those who revered him and stayed. Theirs are the fullest accounts in the record and the most interested, and several preserve his hardness even while admiring him.

• Klaus Jürgen Becker Devoted · German student who came to the system through Saupe and studied under the founder in the mid-1990s; author of a German-language memorial.
• Genoa Bliven Devoted · Student from 1995; Director of Human Design America from 2003; founder of the Human Design College.
• Lynda Bunnell Devoted · Dean and later director of the IHDS; the founder’s co-author; the steward of the institution after his death.
• JR Richmond Devoted · Projector analyst, privately trained by the founder; the IHDS examiner of professional candidates; a close friend of the Sedona years.
• Mary Ann Winiger Devoted · Generator teacher trained entirely by the founder; Director of Human Design America before 2003; author of A Revolution of One.

The builders

Those who built the system beside him, in print, in translation, and in the one study that set out to test it. A place here does not depend on devotion, and it did not always survive it.

• Alokanand Diaz Devoted, at a stated distance · The system’s Spanish voice: translator of the Black Book into Spanish, and a collaborator of some seventeen years.
• Martin Grassinger Devoted; self-authored · A German analyst of the earliest cohort, who claims the first Human Design analyst licence issued anywhere.
• Eleanor Haspel-Portner Estranged · Clinical psychologist; the founder’s research partner (Rave Life Sciences, 1999 to 2002); the one person he authorized to test the system.
• Jürgen Saupe The witness who does not speak · The German translator and publisher who, more than any single figure, made the system exist as a book and an organization.

Those who moved beyond him

Students who neither stayed nor broke with him, and carried what they had taken in a direction of their own.

• Karen Curry Parker Independent lineage · Self-described original student of the founder from the late 1990s; creator of Quantum Human Design.
• Richard Rudd Respectful diverger · An early student who studied with the founder before developing the Gene Keys as a distinct system.
• Fiona Wong Independent practitioner · Independent Human Design reader of the current generation; a measured public voice for moving the teaching beyond its founder.

The estranged

Those who broke with him. The interest is plain, and so is the detail.

• Chetan Parkyn Estranged; structural · Early American student and independent author; his book occasioned the failed Florence copyright suit.
• Zeno and Chaitanyo Estranged · Founders of New Sun Services America, the couple who carried the system to the United States in 1993 and broke with the founder in 1999.

The critics

Those who reject the system, or the culture that formed around it. One left the community and wrote about leaving, one never entered it, and one practises inside it still.

• Praggya Beniwal Sympathetic practitioner critic · A reader who, after more than three years in the system, published a critical analysis of its claims.
• Robert T. Carroll Skeptic, from outside the community · The philosopher behind The Skeptic’s Dictionary, who treated the system as New Age pseudoscience.
• Jonah Dempcy Estranged; insider turned critic · A longtime teacher of the system and conference organizer who left it and published a book-length account of leaving.

Observers from outside the community

Those who wrote about the system without belonging to its school. The heading is the book’s own, from its cast of characters, and it covers the figures Chapter Eleven has no register for.

• Steve Rhodes Institution-sourced; outside the school · A teacher and author whose 2012 book examines the founder’s 2027 prophecy from within the wider astrological field.

The composite

The chapter closes on a witness who states the problem of this whole register himself, and who is carried on his own terms.

• Tom Pfeiffer Devoted; self-caveated · Among the first analysts the founder certified, and a friend of some twenty years; the keeper of the wildest first-circle lore.

How to read them

No single account commands the field. The witnesses who loved the founder and the witnesses who left him agree on the outline of the man and divide entirely on its meaning; the same forcefulness is named, by different witnesses, as integrity and as control. The contest is the record, and it stands here unresolved. Career profiles for many of these figures, with their documented roles and dates, are kept separately in the teacher records; the dossiers here carry only the testimony.
