Who was Zeno Dickson?
Zeno Dickson (born Karen Cox, 1952, California) was, by any measure of the documentary record, the person most responsible for building the Human Design System's American school. She taught the original mechanics of Human Design without interpretive overlay until 2017 — when, by her own account, her voice had become too weak to continue teaching, three years before her death in 2020 — and maintained a systematic documented critique of Ra Uru Hu's Four Types behavioral overlay from 2013 onward.

Does anyone own the Human Design System?
The Tribunale di Firenze ruled on June 3, 2020 (case R.G. 2756/2020) that no copyright subsists over the Human Design System as a set of ideas and methods, and that those ideas and methods are freely discussable. Jovian Archive Media Pte. Ltd. claims copyright over Ra's teachings.

Is the Human Design System trademarked or copyrighted?
The phrase "The Human Design System" has never been successfully registered as a U.S. word mark — all three applications were abandoned, the last in 2024. Only two composite marks remain live, each owned by Jovian Archive Media Pte. Ltd. and disclaiming any exclusive right to the words "Human Design"; the separate BG5 marks are owned by Inner Human Design Inc. (California).
What is the difference between the original pre-1997 mechanics and the post-1997 Four Types overlay?
The reference point for this record is the mechanics Ra Uru Hu transmitted between 1987 and early 1997 — the structure of the bodygraph itself, before the behavioral framework he began adding in May 1997. This original layer describes how a chart is constructed and read; it does not yet include the Four Types, Strategy, Authority, or the Variable material, which were added later.
When was the IHDS founded — 1992 or 1994?
The IHDS claims a founding date of 1992 on its current website. The documentary record raises several questions about this claim. Ra Uru Hu's own May 2008 email states: "The IHDS spent most of its existence as me."

Has the Human Design System been scientifically validated?
