The Software Record
Every Human Design chart ever calculated has passed through software. This page documents the tools that made the system distributable — who built them, when, and what they calculate.
This page documents Human Design chart calculation software from 1993 to the present. It covers independent software, Jovian Archive platforms, and emerging AI-native tools. Software is listed in chronological order by first release. This archive has no affiliation with any software vendor listed here.
Section 1 — The Calculation Foundation
Human Design chart calculation requires two distinct computations: the Personality imprint (planetary positions at the exact moment of birth) and the Design imprint (planetary positions at the moment the Sun was exactly 88 degrees earlier in the zodiac — approximately 88 days before birth, but calculated by solar arc, not calendar days). Both require precise ephemeris data and a method for converting planetary positions into Human Design gate and line notation using the 64-hexagram Rave Mandala wheel.
The standard calculation engine used by most professional HD software is the Swiss Ephemeris (developed by Astrodienst AG, astro.com), combined with the JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory) planetary database from NASA. Swiss Ephemeris is licensed under a dual model: a free edition (AGPL open-source license, which requires open-sourcing any commercial product that uses it) and a Professional Edition (commercial license, approximately 700 CHF one-time, required for commercial use without open-sourcing the product).
The Rave Mandala gate assignment uses a fixed tropical zodiac mapping: Gate 41 Line 1 begins at 302.000 degrees tropical longitude. Each of the 64 gates occupies 5.625 degrees; each of the 6 lines within a gate occupies 0.9375 degrees. This mapping is consistent across all major HD software platforms. The gate sequence in longitude order starting at Gate 41 is: 41, 19, 13, 49, 30, 55, 37, 63, 22, 36, 25, 17, 21, 51, 42, 3, 27, 24, 2, 23, 8, 20, 16, 35, 45, 12, 15, 52, 39, 53, 62, 56, 31, 33, 7, 4, 29, 59, 40, 64, 47, 6, 46, 18, 48, 57, 32, 50, 28, 44, 1, 43, 14, 34, 9, 5, 26, 11, 10, 58, 38, 54, 61, 60. The transit records on /history were calculated using this method, verified against the Rave New Year 2024 date (Gate 41.1 confirmed at January 22, 2024, 13:20 UTC).
Section 2 — Software Timeline
The following documents Human Design chart calculation software in chronological order of first release. Each entry identifies the creator, platform, key features, and primary sources.
Neutrinos Through Windows
The original Human Design chart calculation software and the first tool to make the system self-distributable by practitioners. New SunWare describes it as “the Original Human Design Software and since 1993 the standard program for all those who want to work with the Human Design System.” Before Neutrinos existed, Human Design charts were calculated by hand and distributed by fax — Jürgen Saupe faxed bodygraph prints worldwide in the early years of the system’s spread.
Erik Memmert was a founding member of the Human Design Standards Board (September 1, 2000) as the New SunWare representative, provided technical and programming work for the Complete Rave I’Ching (2001), and contributed substantially to the statistical data processing for Eleanor Haspel-Portner’s Rave Life Sciences research. He continues to develop and support Neutrinos from Augsburg; a workshop session recorded in July 2024 at the Human Design School Dresden documents his ongoing active role.

Jovian Mobile
The first mobile-friendly Human Design chart platform, developed by Antonio Blanco Alzola at Ra Uru Hu’s request in 2010. Jovian Mobile introduced the rounded BodyGraph design — centers with curved edges and curved circuitry lines — which Ra Uru Hu specifically commissioned for mobile display. Jovian Archive has documented that this rounded BodyGraph design was created during Ra’s lifetime and at his direction: “A few years before his passing, Ra requested the development of a mobile-friendly Human Design chart.” Jovian Mobile served as the bridge platform between the MMI desktop software and the later myBodyGraph web platform.

Auracle
Zen Human Design’s own chart calculation software, built by Chaitanyo Taschler. Described on Chaitanyo’s site as “the software that Zeno and Chaitanyo always wanted,” Auracle is explicitly designed around the pre-1997 original Human Design System mechanics — it is “focused on the body graph, rather than keynotes and names” and presents the chart as a mechanical tool for independent research rather than as an interpretive system with named strategies and authorities. This positions it as the only major HD software built explicitly on the pre-overlay mechanics documented in /doctrines#section-2.
Auracle’s distinctive features: a three-color BodyGraph providing more visual information than the standard two-color format, an interface designed for dynamic connection charts between individuals, and transit tracking through past, present, and future. It is not affiliated with Jovian Archive, the IHDS, or any licensed national organization.
- Creator: Chaitanyo Taschler (Zen Human Design, humandesignsystem.com)
- Philosophical basis: Pre-1997 original HD mechanics — no Strategy/Authority behavioral prescriptions
- BodyGraph: Innovative three-color design
- Features: Individual charts, connection charts, transit tracking (past/present/future)
- Audience: Practitioners working with original HD mechanics; independent researchers
- Not affiliated with IHDS, Jovian Archive, or licensed national organizations

Section 3 — Forthcoming Platforms
The following platform has been announced and is in development as of June 2026 but has not yet launched publicly.
humandesign.io
Jovian Archive’s forthcoming AI-powered Human Design application. The platform will offer chart calculation, connection charts, real-time transit tools, and a conversational AI interface trained on over 2,500 hours of Ra Uru Hu’s recorded teachings, with responses tailored to the user’s specific chart. Ra.TV, a forthcoming video streaming platform for Ra’s recorded lectures, is also in development by Jovian Archive.

Section 4 — Calculation Standards
All major Human Design software platforms use the same underlying calculation standard. This section documents the technical specifications for researchers, developers, and practitioners building on the system.
- Ephemeris engine: Swiss Ephemeris (Astrodienst AG, astro.com) — the standard across Neutrinos Through Windows, MMI, MaiaMechanics.com, and all major platforms. Dual license: free edition (AGPL — requires open-sourcing any commercial product) and Professional Edition (~700 CHF one-time — required for closed-source commercial use).
- Planetary database: JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory, NASA) — used by MMI and MaiaMechanics.com for state-of-the-art planetary position accuracy.
- Design imprint calculation: The Sun must be exactly 88.00 degrees earlier in the tropical zodiac than at the moment of birth — not exactly 88 days earlier. The calculation is by solar arc, not calendar duration, producing a slightly different offset date for each birth.
- Rave Mandala gate mapping: Gate 41 Line 1 = 302.000 degrees tropical longitude (fixed, verified). Each gate = 5.625 degrees. Each line = 0.9375 degrees. Gate sequence in longitude order: 41, 19, 13, 49, 30, 55, 37, 63, 22, 36, 25, 17, 21, 51, 42, 3, 27, 24, 2, 23, 8, 20, 16, 35, 45, 12, 15, 52, 39, 53, 62, 56, 31, 33, 7, 4, 29, 59, 40, 64, 47, 6, 46, 18, 48, 57, 32, 50, 28, 44, 1, 43, 14, 34, 9, 5, 26, 11, 10, 58, 38, 54, 61, 60.
- Time conversion: Birth time must be converted to Universal Time (UT/GMT) using a timezone and historical daylight saving database. MMI and MaiaMechanics.com include the ACS International Atlas for this conversion.
- Transit records on this archive: Calculated using Swiss Ephemeris (tropical), calibrated to Gate 41.1 = 302.000°, verified against Rave New Year 2024. See /history for the full transit record with methodology notes.
