Witnesses · Sympathetic practitioner critic
Praggya Beniwal
A reader who, after more than three years in the system, published a critical analysis of its claims.
Relationship to the founder
Beniwal came to the system as a practitioner and stayed in it for more than three years before publishing her analysis in August 2023. She writes from inside the practice rather than against it, and her critique is of what the system claims rather than of the man who made it.
What they say
Her conclusion is stated without hedging: “it is clear that the Human Design System is not yet a science.”
On the evidence for it she writes: “In the 30 years that Human Design has existed on the planet, there is very little statistical evidence to show for its validity.”
How the account is weighed
Interest: Sympathetic practitioner critic Her interest runs the opposite way from most criticism, which is what makes the testimony useful: she is broadly sympathetic to the practice and has little to gain by diminishing it. A friendly practitioner, examining the evidence, still declines to call the work a science. That is the word the founder’s own phrase, the science of differentiation, invites, and it is the one this archive keeps testing against the record.
