The Determination arrow

What the system says it is
The system ties this arrow to the Primary Health System: how a person is said to be designed to take in food and information, in what manner and at what pace. It is the arrow the PHS diet framework is built around.
The arrow itself is a summary. Underneath it sit the colour, tone and base of the relevant activation, and the direction the arrow points is what those values are said to select. The four arrows together are the whole of what most charts display of the Variable layer, which is why the arrow, rather than the values beneath it, is what a reader usually meets.
Where it sits in the chart
Variable divides along the same line the rest of the chart does. The two arrows on the Design side, Determination and Environment, the system ties to the body, and it groups them as the Primary Health System. The two on the Personality side, Motivation and Perspective, it ties to the mind. This arrow is on the Design side, which is the unconscious calculation taken from roughly eighty-eight days before birth.

The birth-time caveat
Variable is the layer the system says requires a birth time accurate to the minute. The gross structure of a chart, its type, profile and incarnation cross, is comparatively robust to a small error in the recorded time; the colour, tone and base beneath the activations are not, and an error of a few minutes can reverse an arrow.
That sensitivity is not a side note in this archive. The founder’s own birth time circulates in three forms, and the archive documents that the published figures and the unsourced one fall on opposite sides of exactly this layer. What this page does not carry
The named states each arrow is said to select, and the dietary regimens of the Primary Health System that follow from Determination, are not reproduced here. They are the founder’s own material, taught and sold through the school, and this archive documents the structure of the system rather than republishing its contents.
The distinction is the one the Court of Florence drew in 2020: the ideas and methods may be freely discussed by people who are not their creators, while the forms in which they were expressed remain protected. The order is hosted at the document gallery.
Where Variable sits in the record
Variable is a late layer. The archive dates the system’s central architecture, the types, strategy, authority and profile, to a class in the spring of 1997, and places Variable and the Primary Health System material later still, in the partnership years that followed. It is not part of what the founder described receiving in 1987, and the system does not claim it is.
