The crosses that complete a channel
Most incarnation crosses are four gates that do not connect to one another. A few are not: their gates include one of the thirty-six channel pairs, which means the cross by itself produces definition. This page records which, grouped by the four quarters the system reads the wheel in.
This is a finding about part of the catalogue, not the catalogue. The Global Incarnation Index of roughly 192 crosses is listed by the rights-holder among its claimed properties, and this archive does not reproduce it. What is set out below is the subset in which a structural property holds, together with what the system says that property means, reported in the system’s voice and adopted nowhere.
How a cross can produce definition
A cross is four gates: the Sun and Earth of the Personality, and the Sun and Earth of the Design. A channel is a specific pair of gates joined across two centres, and a centre counts as defined when a channel running into it is completed at both ends. Ordinarily a cross leaves those four gates unconnected, and whatever definition a chart has comes from elsewhere in the calculation.
Where two of the four gates happen to be a channel pair, the arithmetic is different: the cross completes a channel on its own. The system attaches weight to this because it holds that the greater part of the imprint, commonly given as around seventy per cent, arrives through the Sun, so a channel completed by the Sun and Earth gates is said to make the theme of the cross permanently available rather than dependent on another person or a passing transit.

The eight channels involved
The crosses below complete one of eight channels, out of the thirty-six. Each pair and name has been checked against the archive’s own verified table. Pairs are shown as the source prints them; the archive writes the same channels low gate first, so 60-3 and 3-60 are one channel.
The pattern the quarters follow
The system divides the wheel into four quarters, each with a theme it says purpose is fulfilled through, and reads each quarter in two halves: a first half it frames as learning the theme, and a second it frames as that theme concretized. The order below follows the Personality Sun around the wheel.
- The Quarter of Initiation: purpose fulfilled through mind.
- The Quarter of Civilization: purpose fulfilled through form.
- The Quarter of Duality: purpose fulfilled through bonding and relationships.
- The Quarter of Mutation: purpose fulfilled through transformation.
The layering repeats: learning about mind, then mind fulfilled into form; learning about form, then the civilizing effect of form; learning about bonding, then the maintenance of what bonding produces; learning about transformation, then transformation lived. That progression is the system’s framing of its own wheel, not an observation of this archive.

Fulfilment
What the system claims this means, and what it does not
In the system’s account, a cross that completes a channel gives the life’s work a consistent and reliable quality: the theme is described as already switched on rather than waiting on engagement with another person. The system is equally clear about the limits it places on that claim, and they are worth carrying at the same volume.
- Type, strategy and authority remain the primary instruction. A defined channel is not held to protect anyone from the not-self.
- These crosses are not framed as better. A chart whose purpose is said to operate through engagement with others is not described as carrying less of it.
- No Reflector carries one. That follows from the definitions rather than from any additional claim: a Reflector is a chart with no definition, and completing a channel is definition.
- The system’s own teaching is that cross analysis is of limited use early, and that strategy and authority are the material that matters first.
All four of these are the system’s positions, recorded because a page that carried only the first paragraph would misrepresent the teaching it is documenting. What evidence exists for any of the system’s claims is a separate question, set out at the validation record.
How this page was checked, and what is not verified
- Source: the cross-to-channel mapping is transcribed from a reference table held by the archive. The transcription is mechanical, and the 48 entries here match the 48 in that table exactly. The table is a working paper and is not published.
- Reproducible without it: the property recorded here is structural, so no reader needs the table to check the page. Take any cross below, look at the four gates it activates in a chart calculator, and see whether two of them are one of the thirty-six channel pairs. Every row can be confirmed or refuted that way, which is the standard this page asks to be held to.
- Checked: all eight channel pairs and their names, against the archive’s verified thirty-six-channel table. All eight matched. Gate numbers were checked as valid gates, and every gate and channel link on this page resolves.
- Carried as the system’s framework: the four quarters, and the division of each into a learning and a fulfilment half. These are not in the source table, which is ordered by hexagram alone.
- Not independently derived: which four gates compose each cross. Deriving that would need a sourced mandala wheel order, which this archive does not yet hold, so the mapping rests on the source table rather than on a calculation performed here.
- Not reproduced: the roughly 192 crosses of the Global Incarnation Index, which the rights-holder lists among its claimed properties. This page carries 28 Sun positions and 48 crosses, the subset in which a structural property holds.
