There is no official, audited census of Human Design types, and the percentages repeated online trace back to informal tallies of charts rather than to a controlled study. Different sources report slightly different splits, and the biggest single reason the numbers move is the Generator / Manifesting Generator boundary — some counts fold Manifesting Generators entirely into the Generator figure, while others report them separately. That is why this page gives both the split figures and the combined one, and labels all of them approximate.
A type is assigned from a person's BodyGraph, which is calculated from an exact birth time. The calculation itself is deterministic; the population shares are simply an observation about how those calculations fall across many charts, not a claim the system makes about itself.
