A timeline of the people and events in this book.

1948 Ra Uru Hu (born Alan Robert Krakower) is born; his 2011 Montreal Gazette death notice records 1947 (see Appendix, Section H).

1952 Zeno is born Karen Cox, 12 April, in Oakland, California.

1980 Zeno receives sannyas and the name Ma Vedant Zeno from Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh in Poona.

December 1984 Zeno leaves Rajneeshpuram for San Francisco, a year before the commune collapses.

January 1987 Ra’s eight-day “Voice” encounter on Ibiza.

January 1990 Zeno and Chaitanyo meet in Zurich, at the celebration marking Osho’s death.

1991 Ra meets Jürgen Saupe; the first book, the “Black Book”, is translated and published.

February 1992 Ra’s first public lecture, Sant Miquel, Ibiza; the Rave I’Ching is published.

November 1993 Ra arrives in Albuquerque on 1 November; his first public U.S. lecture fills the Taos council chamber on 29 November. The 1993 contract names Zeno and Chaitanyo his exclusive U.S. representatives; the first eight American analysts are certified on New Year’s Eve.

Winter 1994–95 The first Teachers Training, Ibiza; the school’s newsletter reports the certifications in February 1995.

May 1997 Ra introduces the Four Types, Strategy, and Authority at the Chart Reading Seminar in Taos. Zeno and Chaitanyo teach within the overlay for a time, then set it aside.

1999 Zeno and Chaitanyo break with Ra; on 28 July their website records that Ra will now organize his classes himself. The business separation completes by the end of 2000.

September 2000 National contracts establish the federation: the “International Human Design Schools” (plural); Austria’s seat goes to Ilse Sendler.

2001 Jovian Archive’s website is rebuilt; the U.S. listing shifts to jovianarchive.com and the public directory of national Human Design organizations disappears from the site.

August 2001 New Sun Services America is offered for sale; Zeno and Chaitanyo continue as zc design. In April 2002 the master recordings of Ra’s American classes pass to GeneKeys in the UK.

2002 Jürgen Saupe dies (the bodygraph rights pass to his family); Eleanor Haspel-Portner breaks with Ra.

25 July 2003 Ra’s open letter names Zeno, Chaitanyo, and Eleanor.

2004 Jovian Archive Media Inc. is registered in Ontario; the first U.S. trademark filing on “The Human Design System” (abandoned 2006) and a companion filing on the mandala image (registered 2007).

May 2008 Ra writes that “the IHDS spent most of its existence as me.”

2009 Zeno publishes the six-part Michael Jackson conditioning series; in August, zc design becomes Zen Human Design.

2010 ihdschool.com is registered; the IHDS is run by Lynda Bunnell.

2011 Ra dies, aged sixty-two.

2013–2017 Zeno teaches from a wheelchair in Taos: newsletters, recorded classes, the YouTube presentations, the goodbye video posted September 2017.

2016 Jovian Archive Media Pte. Ltd. is incorporated in Singapore; the German-speaking coalition issues its declaration (26 January 2016).

2016 Austria disappears from Jovian Archive’s national-organizations roster, absent in the capture of 13 April 2016.

2018 The 2007 registration of the mandala image is cancelled for want of a declaration of continued use; Jovian Archive Media Ltd. refiles on the same image, and the new registration (2019, Reg. 5797541) remains live.

25 March 2020 Zeno dies in Taos, aged sixty-seven.

June 2020 The Tribunale di Firenze rules that no one can own the Human Design System, copyright does not extend to ideas, methods, or systems.

2025 Jovian Archive secures two U.S. brand-name registrations (myBodyGraph; Jovian Archive Human Design), each obtained only by disclaiming any exclusive right to the words “Human Design”; the USPTO accepts the continued-use declaration on the mandala image mark.

Zeno (Karen Cox / Ma Vedant Zeno): built the American school of Human Design and taught the original mechanics until 2017; the subject of this book.

Chaitanyo Taschler: Zeno’s partner; designer, recordist, and keeper of the original archive.

Ra Uru Hu (Alan Robert Krakower): founder of the Human Design System; received it in 1987.

Jürgen Saupe: German translator and publisher; produced the first bodygraph and the Black Book and held the image rights.

Eleanor Haspel-Portner: clinical psychologist who ran the 1999–2002 statistical study of the system.

Martin Grassinger: original-circle German-speaking teacher (since 1992).

Erik Memmert: built the original Human Design software and holds the graphics copyright.

Chetan Parkyn, Richard Rudd, Mary Ann Winiger: among the teachers who came through New Sun Services and later became pillars of the system.

Josef Velten: among the eight analysts certified in the first American class, December 1993; his 2015 letter to Zeno is quoted in Chapter Six.

Divo Dickson: Zeno’s daughter, listed as a contributor on the December 1993 Taos Time masthead.
