Theresa Blanding brings an unusually wide interdisciplinary background to Human Design: she holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Design and Economic Evaluation and a Master’s degree in Telecommunications, both interdisciplinary programs. Before Human Design her career spanned roles as Technical Director at NBI and US West, Associate Professor of Computer Sciences at Regis University, Dean of Continuing Education at Naropa University, and Executive Director of the Rolf Institute. She also studied the Arica method and enneagram with Oscar Ichazo for twenty years and Tai Chi Chuan with senior students of Professor Cheng Man-ch’ing.
Blanding encountered Human Design in 1997 and began studying directly with Ra Uru Hu, attending his classes in Taos, Sedona, Vienna, Diessen, and Ibiza. She was certified as a Human Design Analyst in 1997 and as an IHDS Teacher in 2001. In 2001 she presented Management by Design at the first Rave Biversity in Diessen, Germany and that same year edited the Global Incarnation Index: Incarnation Crosses. Ra Uru Hu specifically tasked her with creating the Rave Encyclopedia — a commission that reflects his assessment of her editorial and organizational abilities.
In 2005 Blanding authored the IHDS Rave ABCs Student Manual — the foundational first-level course workbook required of every student entering the IHDS professional pathway — and co-authored the IHDS Rave Cartography Student Manual. These two texts have reached every analyst trained through the IHDS since 2005. Her humandesignstrategies.com biography states she is “one of Ra Uru Hu’s senior students, who he tasked to create the Rave Encyclopedia.”
Blanding continues to teach and practice from Boulder, Colorado, with over thirty-five years of coaching experience and Human Design as her primary tool for the last twenty-eight of those years. She offers foundation readings, life cycle and relationship readings, and one-on-one correspondence courses in Living Your Design, Rave ABCs, and Rave Cartography.
